What is the difference between Percale and Sateen?

Percale and Sateen are the two types of fabric Bedface sheets are made of. Both names represent a different style of weave that contributes to the softness, sheen, airflow, and overall feel of the sheets.

Percale sheets are soft, crisp, and airy. They are lower in thread count and have a looser weave, making them more breathable and perfect for those who want a cooler night’s sleep.

Sateen sheets are smooth, warm, and buttery. They have a slight sheen to them that wears off as the fabric softens and the cotton relaxes. The sateen weave is tighter meaning they don’t allow as much air to flow through the stitches, making them a warmer choice. Sateen is the perfect choice for those who prefer warmer, smoother sheets.

What is the thread count of Bedface Sheets?

We offer two types of weaves with varying thread counts. Our Percale sheets have a thread count of 300, perfect for those who sleep hot and prefer a lighter, airy feel. Our Sateen fabric comes with a thread count of 500 with a subtle sheen to the fabric and a warm and cozy feel.

As thread count increases, it becomes more difficult for air to make its way through the sheets. We chose thread counts that offer the perfect balance between softness and breathability, and that highlights the natural fibers and weaves of our sheets.

What are Bedface sheets made of?

All Bedface sheets are made from 100% long-staple cotton. Long-staple cotton is among the softest materials to sleep on. The long fibers create a durable fabric with a luxuriously smooth feel for an amazing sleep, night after night.
